// a thread staff report //

Another installment of Brewfest, and another rough day at the office for a few of the Thread Magazine staff. First and foremost, an enormous thanks to The Vermont Brewer’s Festival for inviting us back as media to crash the party as beer journalists. This year’s brewfest had not only the most stellar lineup of brewers to date, but a wild storm that forced an evacuation of Burlington’s Waterfront Park leading to a late re-entry and festival extension to 10pm.

Amongst the many staples of Brewfest and the broader Vermont beer scene like Hill Farmstead’s Edward, Lawson’s Double Sunshine, and of course The Alchemist’s Heady Topper (this is kind of neat), there were a number of killer new-ish (at least to us) brews that stood out to the Thread staff that absolutely earned a mention; in no particular order…

  • Flying Goose – Ed’s Honey Basil Ale
  • Long Trail – Lemon Pepper Kolsh
  • Foley Brothers – Ginger Wheat
  • Lagunitas – Hop Stoopid
  • Trout River – Blonde and Dangerous
  • Vermont Pub & Brewery – Watermelon Wheat
  • Tuckerman Brewing- Altitude
  • Dieu du ciel – Disco Soleil
